South Korea to boost nuclear energy, plant sales, despite outcry

Touting South Korea’s nuclear technology to allies at a recent summit in Europe, President Yoon Suk-yeol vowed to increase the country’s nuclear energy production and boost reactor sales abroad.

The previous administration began to phase out nuclear power following the Fukushima nuclear disaster, problems with South Korea’s aging reactors and industry corruption.
