Pro-Palestine professor fights back

A leading scholarly critic of Israeli aggression against Palestinians is speaking out after renewed attacks surfaced regarding his anti-Zionism work.

The social media firestorm erupted after Dr. Miller shared snippets of an episode of Palestine Declassified – where he is a co-host and producer where the controversial Chabad Luvoitch sect was profiled.

The Community Security Trust lead the latest charge against Prof Miller, saying they needed to provide specialized anti-terror training as a result of the charges of extremism leveled against the group.

David Miller and his supporters are well aware there is a co-ordinated campaign afoot, one that seeks to undermine and smear his name and reputation at every turn. But for Professor Miller, these attacks simply strengthen his resolve.

These fresh attacks are the latest in a long line of smears that lead to Prof Miller being removed from his post at the University of Bristol. A tribunal on the issue is slated to be held in 2023.

These cases are a warning to other people; don’t do this, don’t speak up, don’t tell the truth as you see it because this will happen to you, and this frightens many people.

What’s at stake here is that you’re not allowed to speak out about Palestine and if you do, they will come for you. We see that you mention academics, but it affects academics all across the country, but we see it in other areas: counselors, popular music stars, and a whole range of people being attacked.

Like others who have had to pay the price for speaking out, Prof Miller refuses to be cowed and will continue fighting for justice for Palestine.
