Hundreds of Palestinians attended a national conference in the blockaded Gaza Strip to mark the first anniversary of the victory of Palestinian resistance against the Israeli regime in the Sword of al-Quds battle.

The Gaza-based resistance groups, mainly Hamas and the Islamic Jihad, fired more than 4,000 rockets toward the Israeli-occupied territories during the 11-day war.

The Sword of al-Quds battle began when Hamas's Izzidin al-Qassam Brigades attacked the Israeli regime in retaliation to Israeli aggression on Palestinians in al-Quds’s Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood.

During the battle, Israeli attacks claimed the lives of over 260 Palestinians, including scores of children and women.

Addressing the conference via satellite, the head of the political bureau of Hamas, Ismail Haniyeh, warned the Israeli regime against holding the so-called flag march in al-Quds.

Palestinians believe that the Sword of al-Quds battle has united their ranks. During the 11-day war, all Palestinian factions in the Gaza Strip worked together through the Joint Chamber of Military Operations.

Palestinian resistance groups have been holding military maneuvers following the Sword of al-Quds battle to confront any new Israeli war amid the increasing warmongering rhetoric by the Israeli regime.

Observers say that Palestinian resistance groups fought a fierce battle against the Israeli regime last year forcing Tel-Aviv to declare a unilateral ceasefire.
