Peru seizes 1.5 tonnes of marijuana

Peruvian authorities say they have found 1.5 tonnes of marijuana inside a house in the country's capital Lima.

During the bust, three members of a small drug dealing clan were arrested.

Interior Minister Alfonso Chavarry said the marijuana came from Colombia through Ecuador.

According to the authorities, since the beginning of the year Peruvian police have carried out 4,421 operations during which they have detained 959 people, dismantled 25 criminal organizations and seized 16.9 tons of drugs.
