Palestinian man injured by Israeli forces in West Bank succumbs to his wounds

A Palestinian man has succumbed to his wounds a day after he was shot and seriously injured by Israeli forces in the northern occupied West Bank.

In a statement on Thursday, the Palestinian Health Ministry said that another man wounded in clashes with Israeli forces near Nablus yesterday died of his wounds at a hospital in the West Bank city.

The man identified by Palestinian media as Fawaz Hamayel was shot by Israeli soldiers during clashes in the town of Beita, south of Nablus.

The death brings to about a dozen the number of Palestinians killed by the occupying regime forces over the past week.

The regime has stepped up its deadly acts of aggression across Palestinian territories since the start of the holy fasting month of Ramadan, causing Palestinians to intensify their resistance operations in response.

A total of 20 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli fire since March 22, as Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett has already given Israeli forces a free hand to “defeat” what he called “terror” in the West Bank.

The Islamic resistance movement Hamas has strongly condemned the recent killings of Palestinians by Israeli military forces across the occupied West Bank, stating that they exposed the appalling nature of the Tel Aviv regime.

Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh earlier condemned the killing of Palestinians, saying the Tel Aviv regime continues to escalate its repressive measures across the occupied territories through field execution of youths.

Last May, similar atrocities led to a war between the Israeli military and the Gaza-based resistance groups, which rose up in protest against the Israeli regime’s inhumane practices.

This year, the Palestinian resistance groups have already warned that dangerous ramifications await Israel if it continues to attack and kill Palestinians.

Israeli troops have on numerous occasions been caught on camera brutally killing Palestinians, with the videos going viral online and sparking international condemnation.

The Tel Aviv regime has been criticized for its extensive use of lethal force against and extrajudicial killing of Palestinians who do not pose an immediate threat to the occupation forces or to the Israeli settlers.

In recent years, there has been hundreds of confirmed instances of Israeli forces lethally shooting Palestinian children and adults allegedly suspected of trying to attack Israelis.
