Indian Wells Masters: Rafael Nadal defeats Evans to reach semis

Rafael Nadal has moved into the round of 16 at the Indian Wells Masters with a straight sets victory over Britain’s Daniel Evans.

The 7-5, 6-3 victory sees Nadal extend his unbeaten run in 2022 to 17 games after winning a men's record-breaking 21st Grand Slam title at the Australian Open.

Down an early break the Spaniard leveled it at 4-all with a break of serve and again broke Evans to close out the first set and seize the momentum. He broke early in the 2nd for a 3-love lead on his way to the victory. The three-time Indian Wells champion will next face Reilly Opelka.
