Ukraine false-flag attacks

Russia has accused Ukrainian nationalists of planning false-flag chemical attacks to put their blame on Moscow and inflame the situation further. Russian envoy at the UN, Vasily Nebenzya described armed nationalists in Ukraine as the main threat to civilians there. He said, the groups have been unleashing terror against their own compatriots by placing artilleries close to residential buildings, schools and kindergartens. Nebenzya added, the Ukrainian nationalists are openly flaunting their cruelty by posting videos showing the torture of captured Russian soldiers. He also criticized the UN for its silence on the crimes being committed by Kiev in the Donbass region. Nebenzya said the Ukrainian military has killed more than 13,000 people in the region since 2014.

Russia-Ukraine conflict

One of Ukraine’s top negotiators says the fourth round of peace talks with Russia has been paused and is set to resume on Tuesday. Mykhailo Podolyak made the announcement in a twitter post, saying the pause is technical due to additional work in subgroups and clarification of individual definitions. Before the talks, Kiev said it will be seeking an immediate ceasefire, the withdrawal of Russian troops and security guarantees from Moscow. Podolyak said only after that the two sides can discuss regional relations or their political differences. Earlier, Kiev also renewed calls for further western pressure on Moscow to avoid a larger war. The Ukrainian Foreign Minister urged western allies to increase anti-Russian sanctions and supply Ukraine with more weapons.

Saudi mass executions

The Iranian Judiciary’s High Council for Human Rights strongly condemns Saudi Arabia’s mass execution of prisoners and urges a thorough probe into the matter. The council says the international community’s apathy toward the Saudi crimes against the Yemeni people has emboldened Riyadh to embark on such violations. Saudi Arabia executed dozens of prisoners in a single day, many of them Shia Muslims.
