Iran reveals details of a probe into Gen. Soleimani's assassination

Inside the former US embassy in Tehran, Iranian judicial experts gathered to reveal the details of a probe into the US assassination of Iranian top military commander, Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani.
General Soleimani was the commander of the Quds Force of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps, which is in charge of conducting overseas operations. He was assassinated in January 2020 in a US drone strike outside Baghdad Intl. Airport on a direct order from then US president Donald Trump.
Iran and Iraq have formed a joint investigation committee comprised of Iraqi and Iranian judicial experts. Based on the latest findings of the legal team, 120 people have been identified in connection with General Soleimani's assassination. Former US President Donald Trump tops the list.
General Soleimani holds a reputation for eliminating Daesh terrorists in Iraq in 2017. He also led major operations in Syria that led to the recapturing of key areas from the terror group. That's why his assassination is viewed as a huge loss for the region and a big win for the terrorists, something which experts say leads to a safe interpretation that Washington must be on the terrorists' team.
Two years have passed since General Soleimani was assassinated, and the Islamic Republic is still as resolute to prosecute those behind the incident. Iran's judiciary calls the culprits the terrorists' comrades, saying it will not stop until all the perpetrators are brought to justice.
