Italy detects Omicron case as WHO expresses concern over new variant

The Italian Health Authorities confirmed on Sunday that the Omicron covid-19 variant, a heavily mutated strain of the virus recently identified in southern Africa, has been detected in an Italian man who had just returned from a business trip in Mozambique.
