China-Taiwan tensions

China flew 150 planes over the Taiwanese air defense identification zone in the first five days of October. Taiwan regards this as an irresponsible and provocative action. China regards Taiwan as a province and has pledged to take it, by force if necessary. It considers president Tsai’s govt. to be separatists. This is while Taiwan stresses it’s committed to safeguarding its democracy. In this edition, Spotlight interviews Saeed Khan director of Global Studies at Wayne State University from Detroit and William Jones a member of the Executive Intelligence Review in Leesburg to shed more light on the issue.
