Palestinian farmers have held a rally outside the United Nations headquarters in Gaza City to condemn the Israeli ban on the exports of their produce to the occupied West Bank and abroad.

The Palestinians handed a letter to the representatives of the United Nations also protesting the obstacles and restrictions imposed by the Israeli regime on the international marketing of their crops.

Palestinian farmers say large quantities of their crops are piled up at the Karm Abu Salem, which is the only gateway out of the Gaza Strip, and are damaged. They say the Israeli regime has imposed impossible conditions on their exports. The Palestinians say they depend on the crops as their only source of income, adding that the regime seeks to destroy their livelihoods.

The Israeli regime keeps imposing restrictions on Palestinian traders and farmers, keeping them from exporting their crops. Palestinian farmers and traders have called on the international community to help stop these restrictions that have led to serious financial losses and dealt a blow to the Palestinian economy.
