Think of a massive hemorrhage. The Iranian economy has bled out more than once. With the triple-shock of sanctions, oil market collapse and Coronavirus (Covid-19) to its system, it is in its third consecutive year of recession.
Add a loss of water to the problems, and you will get the overall picture. The countrys still standing however, as with every challenge comes a chance.
And the new government will be facing a flood of challenges, foreign and domestic, to turn around.
