Massive Van Gogh hot air balloon kicks off reopening of Toronto's immersive exhibit

A gigantic hot air balloon made in the likeness of Dutch post-impressionist artist Vincent Van Gogh was inflated in Canada's largest city on Wednesday, as part of a promotion for the reopening of the Immersive Van Gogh Exhibit.

"We're going to float it above the city of Toronto, and we're going to celebrate coming out of this incredible, long lockdown that we've been in," said Corey Ross, the exhibition's producer.

The balloon, which stands 91 feet (28 meters) tall, is making its North American debut all the way from Amsterdam, he added.

"I'm a little bit nervous, because I'm going to go for my first hot air balloon ride ever," he said. "I brought my passport in case I blow over to the US."
