Russian cosmonaut films undocking of space module from on board of ISS

Russian space veteran, cosmonaut Oleg Novitskiy filmed undocking of the 'Pirs' space module from the International Space Station on Monday (July 26).

'Pirs' was built as docking port for the Russian manned and cargo spacecraft and for ensuring the exit of cosmonauts and astronauts into open space from the Russian segment of the ISS.

It has been in operation for 20 years and is being replaced by the new module 'Nauka' which is 'Science' in Russian.

'Nauka' is planned to dock the ISS on Tuesday (July 27).
