COVAX program problems

The World Health Organization says more than half of poorer countries receiving COVID-19 vaccines via the COVAX program don’t have enough supplies to continue inoculations. A senior WHO advisor said over 40 nations are estimated to have hit a vaccine shortage, with some having completely run out of doses. He added that the actual numbers might be even higher. The shortages are partly due to production delays and disruptions in vaccine supply from India. This comes as coronavirus infections and related deaths have been on the rise across Africa.
