As observers say Iran often gets used as a scapegoat for Western imperialist powers who interfere in Middle Eastern affairs but recently it seems that right-wing media in Britain have adopted the 'blame Iran' narrative as a weapon to attack the growing pro-independence movements springing up in Scotland and Wales. Here's a report to investigate if the accusations of Iranian meddling in British politics have any truth to them.

Ever since the threat of a UK breakup arrived to the forefront, stories alleging that Iran-linked accounts are spreading fake information online and Tehran is building ties with anti-Westminster political parties have done the rounds, but where do these stories come from and do the accusations stick?

Political experts in Scotland are far from convinced.

The latest story released by The Telegraph on June 6 bases in report on work done by UK-based think tank “The Henry Jackson society,” whose reputation has been in question many times.

Ironically for British media, the UK’s longstanding reputation of meddling in other countries affairs seems to undermine their attempts to derail the independence train which has clearly already left the station.
