Iranian intelligence forces have dismantled three foreign-backed terrorist teams, including culprits of a bomb blast in the city of Saravan, in the southeastern and northwestern provinces of Sistan and Baluchestan and West Azarbaijan.

One civilian lost his life and three others sustained injuries when a bomb explosion ripped through an area in Saravan in Sistan and Baluchestan Province on March 21.

The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) said in a statement a woman was among the casualties.

The perpetrators of the Saravan bombing, affiliated to Jaish al-Zolm (Army of Injustice in Arabic) terrorist group, have received military training in one foreign country and committed the crime under the leadership of the terrorist team.

The team sought to carry out other terrorist measures. The intelligence forces had also confiscated weapons belonging to terrorists, including a Colt, 60 kilograms of explosives with remote control and explosive detonator.

The intelligence forces also arrested members of another terrorist team in Sistan and Baluchestan Province who planned to carry out acts of terrorism and harassment.

The team, led by a European-based terrorist group, intended to conduct terrorist attacks and explosions in the province, particularly in religious sites to sow discord among followers of different religions.

Some weapons and ammunition were seized from the team’s ringleader who has a record of smuggling of illicit drugs and murder.

Also, another armed terrorist team, which entered the country from Iraq, was traced and dismantled in the Urmia border area, in West Azarbaijan.

During the armed clash, two terrorists were killed and another fled while two rifles, one grenade and ammunition and explosives were also confiscated.

The Iranian Intelligence Ministry warned terrorist groups that it would give a firm and decisive response to any move against national security and emphasized that the countries that give shelter to them would be held responsible for their acts of terror.

Iranian intelligence forces in late April arrested 10 Takfiri and anti-revolutionary terrorists affiliated to foreign spy services in the southeastern city of Kerman.

Kerman Province’s Prosecutor Dadkhoda Salari told reporters that the terrorists were attempting to carry out acts of terror and harassment, create insecurity through violent measure, but were identified by Iranian intelligence forces.
