In Pictures: Most intense Israeli-Palestinian escalation in years

The most intense hostilities in recent years have erupted between Israel and resistance groups based in the beseiged Gaza Strip, raising death toll on both sides, with Israel carrying out hundreds of airstrikes against the coastal enclave and Palestinian resistance movements launching multitudes of rockets towards the occupied territories.
