Iranian lawmakers have condemned Israel’s deadly raids against residents of Gaza and its brutal crackdown on Palestinian protesters in occupied Jerusalem al-Quds, saying resistance is the sole way to liberate Palestine from Israeli occupation.

“Resistance is the only way to confront the criminal regime of Israel and the resistance groups will defend the Palestinian cause with maximum preparedness and power until the full liberation of historic Palestine from the River to the Sea,” read a statement released by over 215 Iranian lawmakers on Tuesday.

It added that the Israeli regime is grappling with an “internal political impasse and a fragile security situation” thanks to the awakening of the Muslim nations, the patience and resistance of the Palestinian people, and the preparedness of the resistance forces, adding, “The continuation of crimes by the Zionist enemy will certainly mean the continuation of the resistance’s fight against this regime throughout the occupied Palestinian territory.”

It emphasized that the resistance front, led by the Quds Force of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), will liberate Palestine from the claws of the evil Israeli regime.

The statement drew attention to the Israeli regime’s attacks on the al-Aqsa Mosque, its human rights violations in the occupied territories, and the massacre in the Gaza Strip in the last days of the holy month of Ramadan and on the International Quds Day, saying the Tel Aviv regime’s acts of aggression are another stain of shame in the record of the so-called advocates of human rights and international organizations, particularly the United Nations.

It slammed the silence and inaction on the part of the UN and its Security Council on the Israeli regime’s crimes against the Palestinian people.

“Europe, as a so-called advocate of human rights, has turned a blind eye to this blatant crime. The United States is also an accomplice in the crimes that are taking place in the occupied territories,” it added.

The legislators further said the move by some Arab countries to normalize ties with the “fake Israeli regime” led to division and discord in the Muslim world and betrayed the Palestinian people.

The Iranian Parliament expressed sympathy and solidarity with the Palestinian people and fellow parliamentarians, saying it is fully ready to render any assistance to the oppressed Palestinians.

While emphasizing the need for internal unity among the Palestinians, the lawmakers said resistance is the only way to save and liberate Palestine, calling on Muslim nations in the region to stand by the Palestinian people.

Referendum only fair solution to Palestinian issue: Zarif

Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said on Tuesday that holding a referendum in Palestine and referring to the determination of its people is the only fair solution to the Palestinian issue.

Zarif made the remarks in a video in Arabic posted on his official Twitter account.

“The attack on the al-Aqsa Mosque, the killing of worshipers and the desecration of religious sanctities are the greatest reasons revealing the racist and criminal nature of this usurping regime (Israel),” the foreign minister said.

He added that the Israeli regime has always been the main cause of insecurity and instability in the region.

Tensions have escalated in Jerusalem al-Quds, the occupied West Bank and Gaza throughout the Muslim holy month of Ramadan, amid the Israeli regime’s planned forced expulsions of dozens of Palestinians from the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood, where Israeli settlers are looking to take over the properties of Palestinian families.

The tensions reached boiling point on May 7, when more than 170 Palestinians were injured as Israeli forces stormed the al-Aqsa Mosque compound in dispersing worshippers along with protesters.

In the latest escalation, the Israeli military has bombed several targets in Gaza, killing over 20 people, promoting the Palestinian resistance fighters there to fire a barrage of rockets into the occupied territories in retaliation for the regime’s crimes.
