Life under war, invasion and oppression is too difficult and Afghans know well how the living conditions could be under such circumstances due to decades of war that is still claiming the lives of their loved ones on a daily basis.

That is why Afghans support Palestinians in different ways, especially by marking the International Quds Day that takes place on the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan. An instance was a webinar, which Afghan, Iranian and Palestinian figures attended to discuss the importance of the Palestinian issue.

As the attendees of this webinar say, one of the goals behind marking the International Quds Day is to raise public awareness among the Muslim world about the importance of the liberation of Palestine as the first Qibla of Muslims.

They insisted on following the path of resistance till reaching freedom despite receiving no international support.

Apart from religious issues that link Palestine and its nation to the rest of Muslims, the vast violation of Palestinian rights by the Israeli regime is also unacceptable for Muslims that is why they mark Quds Day to convince international bodies to adopt logical measures against the Zionist regime that continues to occupy more Palestinian lands.

Marking the International Quds Day by launching big gatherings was a usual move for Afghans before the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic in the country. But the fear of further spread of the disease as well as threats coming from terrorist groups have convinced them to avoid big gatherings since last year.
