Republicans have called on Democratic US President Joe Biden to stop denying crisis caused by influx of migrants at the US southern border.

A delegation of Republican lawmakers traveled to El Paso, Texas, on Monday in an effort to witness the border crisis first hand.

“This is where he should bring Air Force One. This is where he should look the people in the eye. This is where he should talk to the border agents and let them know that this is beyond a crisis,” House minority leader Kevin McCarthy stated during a press briefing. “He can continue to deny it, but the only way to solve it is to first admit what he has done, and if he will not reverse action, it’s going to take congressional action to do it.”

The Republicans argue that migrants entering the United States are mostly terrorists or people with the Covid-19 infection.

"It's more than a crisis. This is a human heartbreak," McCarthy said at a press conference on Monday after a tour of the El Paso Processing Center. "This crisis is created by the presidential policies of this new administration."

The California Republican and twelve of his GOP members slammed Biden for what they see as a slow response to the uptick in migrants.

“In just 2 months President Biden has created a crisis at the border by: Halting Wall construction, placing a moratorium on deportations, and promising a pathway to citizenship to 11 million illegal migrants,” said the California Republican on Twitter. “That's why I'm in El Paso, Texas. “

The Biden administration has encouraged people not to try and migrate to the United States across the border.

The GOP did nothing to help with the nation's immigration issues during the four years of the previous administration held by a Republican.
