UN to discuss missing princess with UAE ruler

The United Nations says it will raise the detention of Princess Latifa, the daughter of Dubai's ruler, with the United Arab Emirates. A UN investigation into the alleged abduction and incarceration of the Princess could follow. This comes after a new video of her surfaced, in which she describes her conditions. Meanwhile, the UK has expressed concern, but stopped short of exerting pressure on its middle-eastern ally.
Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed Al Maktoum, the missing daughter of Dubai's billionaire ruler, made international news in 2018, when she posted a video of herself just before she tried to flee Dubai.
In a new video published by the BBC, Latifa says on the last leg of her escape to India, her boat was intercepted and she was beaten, injected with a tranquilizer and dragged back to Dubai where she was imprisoned in a villa.
Seconding Latifa’s story is Princess Haya, the youngest of the Sheikh’s six wives. In March 2020 the UK’s High Court found Sheikh Maktoum guilty of waging a campaign of 'fear and intimidation' against her, and abducting two of his adult daughters.

It’s said Tony Blair's Labour government dropped a criminal inquiry into Shamsa’s abduction as a diplomatic favor to the Sheikh, and it seems those favors keep coming. The UK is reluctant to condemn the billionaire.
Described as the Queen’s close friend the Sheikh has 100s of millions of pounds worth of property in the UK, and billions in investments.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al Maktoum has denied all the charges against him, saying his daughter Latifa was kidnapped for ransom in 2018, and she was returned to Dubai after a successful rescue operation. He insists she is now safe and in perfect health.
