JCPOA Standoff Between US & Iran

© Press TV

Iranian leader firmly announced that Iran will fully comply with the JCPOA unless the US government lift all sanctions.

The US pulled out of the Iran Nuclear Deal or JCPOA on 8th May 2018. And now Iran insists that since the US has left the deal first, the US must be the first country which takes the first step by returning to the deal and lifting sanctions fully. With Joe Biden taking office as US president, hopes ran high for that Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action which he pledged to re-enter, in his election campaign. But now he’s ushering Iran to go first; to recommit to its obligations under the deal, so the US would follow by returning to the deal. Iran simply rejected that firmly following the leader of Iran’s recent speech.

A December urgency law is to get into action 21st Feb, and that’ll be the end of free visits for nuclear inspectors practically living in Iran since the JCPOA of 2015. Unless the US returns to the deal unconditionally, before that.
