December 30 every year which coincides with the ninth day of month Dey in Iranian calendar, is the reminder of the epic turnout of the Iranian nation to foil enemies plots.

On the anniversary of this occasion, Press TV went to a mosque where some people set fire to during the unrest. We talked to the Imam of this mosque about the events.

Eleven years ago on this day, millions of Iranians in the capital Tehran and several other major cities took to the streets to condemn the unrest following the 2009 presidential election.

The mosque was also hosting some officials who talked about the heroic presence of people that slammed the sedition as Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Khamenei put it.

The unrest was started by two of the presidential candidates who had lost the election, claiming that there’s been vote-rigging.

Iranians used to commemorate the heroic demonstration of Dey 9th every year, but this year, due to the coronavirus pandemic, the ceremony is limited.
