Kabul welcomes Tehran's policy toward Afghan peace process

Afghanistan has stepped up efforts to attract more regional support to the country's peace process. Chairman of Afghanistan's High National Reconciliation Council Abdullah Abdullah says he has managed to gain the support of some major regional leaders, including Iranian officials.
Following a recent official visit to Iran, Abdullah described the trip fruitful with extensive talks with top Iranian officials regarding Tehran's policy toward Afghanistan, mainly the country's peace talks.
This comes as Iranian officials have always backed the current Afghan government as the only legitimate state of the country saying political stability in Afghanistan stands in line with Iran's interests.
Besides backing the Afghan government and taking part in several joint economic and cultural projects inside Afghanistan since the ouster of the Taliban regime, Tehran has offered educational services to Afghans inside Iran.
As officials in Kabul and international observers say, Tehran has also been hosting over 3 million Afghan citizens who live in Iran as refugees.
Both Kabul and Tehran have some key plans to improve the capabilities of those refugees in different fields so that they could play a role in the construction of their country. They will finally return to their homeland.
