French land artist Saype presented on Thursday his latest giant spray-painted "human chain" in Turin, part of a project creating artwork of interlocked hands across the world to encourage humanity and equality.

Using bio-degradable paint, Saype continued his "Beyond Walls" project by creating an image showing interlaced hands across a field in front of Palatine Gate.

The first installment was presented in Paris, where Saype painted the grass of the Champs de Mars gardens, the second was nestled under mountains in Andorra, followed by Geneva and Berlin, across to Africa in Burkina Faso and the Ivory Coast, where his artwork circled around the country's biggest and most famous basilica, Notre Dame de la Paix (Peace).

For his seventh installment, Saype picked Turin's Palatine Gate, a first Century BC Roman gateway.

The artist described his project as the biggest human chain in the world and hopes that the images of hands interlinked across borders will encourage togetherness and unity in an increasingly divided society.

It will take several years to complete as he plans to travel to cities all over the globe.

The land painting in Turin is 6,400 square metres in size, making the total size of his project to date close to 57,000 sq/m.

This giant "human chains" disappear within a few days of being revealed as the grass grows and visitors step on it.

The artist, a trained nurse, decided in the last few years to dedicate himself fully to his art and was named one of the most influential young artists by Forbes Magazine.
