Champions League: Manchester City 1-3 Lyon
Manchester City have surprisingly been eliminated from the Champions League after suffering a 3-1 defeat by French side Lyon.
The Ligue 1 outfit got on the score-sheet after Maxwel Cornet tucked the ball home with a curling effort in the 25th minute.
Man City’s hopes were revived when Belgian star Kevin de Bruyne found the net with a precise shot from Sterling’s pass in the 70th minute.
However the Parity was short-lived as Lyon substitute Moussa Dembele scored a controversial in the 79th minute despite a VAR check for a foul.
Eight minutes later Dembele sealed the victory for Lyon after scoring his 2nd off a rebound. With the result the Citizens’ hopes of reaching the Champions League semifinals for the 1st time were dashed while Lyon advanced to the Last 4 of the event for only the 2nd time.
