US willing to risk its own population to launch biological war: Analyst

There is increasing evidence that the global coronavirus pandemic is a US biological warfare against other nations, despite the threat to America’s own population, says an American writer and former professor.

“I think there’s evidence it is a bioweapon, largely because of the international smuggling” between Canada’s bioweapons lab and Harvard University in the US, said E Michael Jones, the current editor of Culture Wars magazine.

“The problem traditionally with all biological weapons is that they’re very difficult to control,” Jones said Tuesday in an interview with Press TV.

“The question is, would the people who are in charge of this (biological weapons), risk they’re entire population; I think it’s possible,” he added. “There are people who are so immoral in the [US] government that they could do it.”

The highly-contagious novel coronavirus — named COVID-19 — first showed up in China and later spread to other countries of the world. Iran has been among the states worst hit by the pandemic.

The total number of global COVID-19 cases stands more than 425,000 as of Wednesday, and nearly 19,000 of those have been fatal, according to data compiled by Johns Hopkins University.

The World Health Organization said on Tuesday infections in the United States had greatly increased and the country could become the global epicenter of the coronavirus pandemic.

Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) is gearing up for fresh biological defense drills as well as countrywide disinfection operations amid warnings that the new coronavirus pandemic may be the outcome of a biological attack targeting certain nations.

Addressing a press conference in Tehran on Tuesday, Brigadier General Mohammad Pakpour, the commander of the IRGC’s Ground Forces, said the massive drills would start on Wednesday.

Iranian scientists and intelligence experts are examining the possibility of the coronavirus being a biological warfare waged against the Iranian people.

Iranian General Nasrollah Fathian, in charge of coordinating executive operations at the National Headquarters to Fight the Coronavirus, made the remark on Monday, adding, “This hypothesis is being thoroughly investigated and the possibility of the coronavirus being a biological attack has not been ruled out.”

“There is even speculation that this virus has been created to specifically target the Iranian population given their genetic traits. But for now, these theories are all being examined,” he explained.
