Just a few months ago, the British Prime Minister Boris Johnson was celebrating an 80-seat majority in the Houses of Parliament as he swept his Tory party to victory in the 2019 general election.

The arrival of the Coronavirus was initially kept very low key in the UK with several cruise tourists whisked into the country on buses and placed into quarantine.

The prime minister's grave statement made it clear that the UK is simply not prepared, resourced or funded to handle the consequences of the virus, warning the British people that the NHS is on the verge of disaster and that people should be prepared to lose their loved ones.
