Two Fiorentina players test positive

Italian football club, Fiorentina, has confirmed in a statement that 2 more players have tested positive for the Coronavirus, bringing the total number of infected players in Serie A to nine.

Fiorentina announced that Argentine International, German Pezzella and on-loan Wolverhampton forward, Patrick Cutrone, along with the team physiotherapist tested positive, after showing some symptoms of the disease.

The club said in a statement that all three are in a good state of health in their homes in Florence.

In addition to the confirmed cases at Fiorentina, five players at Sampdoria and one at Juventus have also contracted the virus.

Serie A has been suspended until at least April 3rd, amid a general ban on sporting events in Italy, which has been the worst-affected country in Europe.
