EFL Cup: Aston Villa 2-1 Leicester City

Over football news in England, Aston Villa have snatched a last-gasp 2-1 victory over Leicester City to set up an EFL Cup final clash with either Manchester City or Manchester United.

Coming off a 1-all draw in the first leg of the semi-final tie, Villa opened the scoring against the run of play, when Jack Grealish flicked the ball into the path of Matt Targett who smashed it in, from a tight angel in the 12th minute.

Leicester drew level in the 72nd minute when Harvey Barnes placed a low cross to the far post and Kelechi Iheanacho was in the right place at the right time to apply the finish.

It seemed that the game was heading for penalties, but Ahmed Elmohamady put in a superb cross for his Egyptian compatriot Mahmoud Trezeguet to stroke in a winner for Villa, deep into the stoppage time.

With the win Aston Villa surged to EFL Cup final matchup at Wembley, as they’ll be expecting either Man City or Man United, who will go up against each other on Wednesday night.
