People in besieged Gaza protest against Trump’s ‘peace’ plan

Thousands of angry Palestinians thronged the streets of Gaza City on Tuesday ahead of the slated release of the so-called deal of the century by US president Donald Trump.
Protesters burned tires and shouted slogans against the proposed deal.
Palestinians were angry as leaks suggested the deal would recognize Israeli sovereignty over virtually all Jewish settlements in occupied Jerusalem al-Quds and the West Bank, which are illegal under international law.
Palestinian resistance movement Hamas warned of an explosive situation in Palestine amid huge resentment among the Palestinian leadership and the people toward the so-called deal of the century.
The Trump administration has already recognized Jerusalem al-Quds as Israel’s "capital" as well as the Israeli regime’s sovereignty over the occupied Syrian Golan Heights, and stopped referring to the West Bank as occupied territory.
Protesters in Gaza vowed to fight what they described as the plot of the century with all possible means.
Donald Trump has received Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his election challenger, Benny Gantz, separately at the White House.
Palestinians have long accused the US of supporting the Israeli occupation of their land and covering up Israeli crimes against them.
The release of the so-called deal of the century comes as Donald Trump faces impeachment hearings over abuse of power and obstruction of Congress.
People here consider the so-called deal of the century as another Nakba or the Day of Catastrophe. Palestinians say they will never accept this shameful deal.
