Palestinians staged rallies on Tuesday to protest against US President Donald Trump’s so-called peace plan for the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

The Palestinian people and their leadership have voiced strong opposition to Trump’s hyped-up plan, describing it as a conspiracy against them.

They’ve called on Arab countries to stand support their cause and form a united front against the US-Israeli plots.

Meanwhile, the Israeli military declared a state of alert and reinforced positions in the occupied West Bank. Palestinian factions say the occupied territories could witness heightened tensions particularly in areas Israel is seeking to annex like the Jordan valley and areas near illegal Israeli settlements.

Observers believe Israel will use the deal of the century as a historic opportunity to bring the Jordan valley, over half of the West Bank and Jerusalem al-Quds under its control.

For the Palestinians, the so-called deal of the century is nothing but a plan to liquidate the Palestinian cause. They believe that the plan will dash their hopes for an independent state in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem al-Quds, and the besieged Gaza Strip.
