Spanish Super Cup: Valencia 1-3 Real Madrid
Real Madrid have reached the final of the the revamped and expanded Spanish Super Cup in Saudi Arabia, after defeating Valencia 3-1.
Real were the dominant force at the King Abdullah Sports City Stadium and took the lead in the 15th minute, thanks to a wonder goal by Toni Kroos, straight from a corner kick.
Isco scored the 2nd in the 39th minute after taking control of a blocked shot. Luka Modric then added a classy third following a curling finish with the outside of his foot, on a skilled Real counter-attack.
Daniel Parejo scored a stoppage-time penalty for Valencia, awarded for a handball, but the game was already over for last year's Copa del Rey winners.
In the Sunday showdown, Real Madrid will meet cross-city rivals Atletico Madrid, who saw off Barcelona 3-2 in a thrilling encounter.
