Major navy drills
Friday saw the start of joint navy drills between Iran, Russia and China in the Sea of Oman and the Indian Ocean.
The highly organised event will see the three nations states join forces on the high seas, and send a message of increased security in the region, as well as fighting terrorism and piracy.
The drills will also increase cooperation between the trio of states. The Sea of Oman is a strategically placed body of water that links the Indian Ocean to the Straits of Hormuz and into the Persian Gulf.
