Venezuela accuses Colombia of sponsoring 'terrorist defectors' for attack

Venezuela accuses Colombian President Ivan Duque of training and sponsoring "terrorist defectors" for an attack, with the help of Peru, Ecuador, and Brazil, to trigger an incident that would justify US military intervention.

Venezuela's Minister for Communication and Information Jorge Rodriguez tweets: "These criminals were trained in well-identified paramilitary camps in Colombia and benefited from the sly collaboration of Jair Bolsonaro government".

A Venezuelan soldier was killed on Sunday during an attack on a military unit in the south of the country, the government said, blaming it on Brazil- and Peru-backed political foes.
