The World Anti-Doping Agency or WADA have banned Russia from all major sporting events for 4 years.

The WADA executive committee made the unanimous decision in a meeting in Switzerland on Monday and approved a full slate of recommended sanctions for tampering with a Moscow laboratory database.

According to the WADA ruling, the Russian flag and anthem will not be allowed at events such as the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and 2022 World Cup in Qatar and prohibited the country from hosting international events.

Russian athletes will be allowed to compete in major events only under a natural flag if they are not implicated in positive doping tests. Wada added Russia's Anti-Doping Agency has 21 days to appeal against the ban.
