US President Donald Trump and British Prime Minister Boris Johnson will meet during an upcoming NATO summit this week, a White House official says.
The official said Saturday that the two had talked on the phone, in which Trump expressed his condolences to Johnson over the London Bridge attack.
Judd Deere, White House deputy press secretary and special assistant to the president, said on Twitter that “the two leaders look forward to meeting with one another” at the NATO summit to be held in the UK.

The US president is set to visit Buckingham Palace for a reception on Tuesday. He is scheduled to join world leaders in Watford the following day for the NATO meeting.
Trump is to face tens of thousands of protesters after he arrives in London as doctors, nurses and other workers of the National Health Service are planning to gather outside the Buckingham Palace on Tuesday.
The protesters are planning to highlight potential risks to the NHS in a future US-UK trade deal after Trump said in his last visit to the UK in June that “everything is on the table” – including the NHS – in trade talks with Britons.
