Saudi airstrikes on Yemen continue to claim the lives of civilians as there is no end sight to the brutal attacks. On Tuesday, five members of a family including two children were killed in a Saudi attack on their vehicle in Sa’dah.

Army spokesperson Yahya Saree says more than 30 air raids have been carried out across Yemen on Monday. Yahya Saree said several civilians were killed and injured after warplanes targeted the provinces of Sa’ada and Hajjah. The Saudi-led attacks on Yemen continue despite a recent truce proposal by Yemen’s Ansarullah movement. Yemeni forces have offered to halt their retaliatory operations IF the kingdom puts an end to its 4-year-long onslaught against Yemen. Saree said the initiative has a time limit and that the Yemenis’ patience is running out.

Estimates say estimates that the war has claimed more than 91,000 lives over the past four and a half years.

The war has also taken a heavy toll on the country’s infrastructure, destroying hospitals, schools, and factories. The UN says over 24 million Yemenis are in dire need of humanitarian aid, including 10 million suffering from extreme levels of hunger.

Saudi Arabia according to experts continues to ignore the chance for peace that was unilaterally declared by the Ansarullah movement. They warn that the second phase of what Ansarullah has already described as the deterrence phase can be even more painful in case this chance is missed by Riyadh and its allies.
