US sanctions push Iran to boost ties with regional countries

The United States unilateral sanctions have had a major impact on trade relations between Iran and the EU. Iran, increasingly disappointed with the EU, has sought for alternatives elsewhere. Tehran has placed greater priority in expanding ties with regional countries to mitigate the effect of US sanctions and boost its economy.
