The bodies of Salvadoran father Oscar Alberto Martinez Ramirez and his daughter Angie Valeria, who drowned while trying to cross into the United States, were returned to the capital of their homeland El Salvador for their burial on Monday.

Footage shows the funeral procession, reportedly joined by 200 relatives and friends, en route to La Bermeja municipal cemetery for a private ceremony.

Ramirez, 26, and his 23-month-old daughter were found drowned in each other's arms last week as they were trying to cross the Rio Grande into Texas to seek asylum, with photos of the pair being published around the world.
