Corbyn joins climate change protest in London

Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn

UK Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn addressed the crowds at a climate change protest in London's Parliament Square on Wednesday.

Earlier the UK's parliament declared a climate change emergency after days of protests by the Extinction Rebellion group.

"We've put a motion to Parliament today and I'm pleased to say it's been agreed by Parliament and that we've now declared a climate emergency. But that is not the end of it. Merely declaring an emergency indicates we understand what the emergency is. It's what we do next. Therefore, it is about agreeing industrial revolution", Corbyn stated.

The emergency motion, which was tabled by Corbyn, makes the UK Parliament the first in the world to declare an environment and climate emergency.
