Saudi executes 37, of which 32 were Shias

On April 24, Saudi Arabia beheaded 37 of its citizens in a mass execution almost never seen before in modern history.

It also publicly pinned one of the bodies and a severed head to a pole as a warning to others. Some of those killed were accused of taking part in anti-regime protests. Some others were accused of trying to form terrorist groups and carry out terrorist organizations. And some others were charged with spying for Iran. At least 33 of the victims were identified to be from the minority Shia community.
