Putin practices judo with Olympic gold medalist in Sochi

Russian President Vladimir Putin took part in the training session of the country's national judo team at the Yug-Sport center in Sochi on Thursday.

Putin injured a finger on his right hand while sparring with 2016 Olympic gold medalist Beslan Mudranov, who then helped the Russian president to wrap the wound before hitting the tatami again.

Putin told reporters that wrestling helps him maintain a positive, but realistic vision on the world around him.

"It’s a well known medical fact: the level of adrenaline increases in a person who practices physical exercises, so your mood improves, and you take a different look on the world around you. I can probably say that it helps you to get real," he said.

The Russian leader took part in judo training with the Russian national team after the trilateral talks on Syria with his Iranian and Turkish counterparts.
