Rifts remain in EU, Italy over refugees stranded in the Mediterranean

Two ships, which pulled 49 African refugees from the Mediterranean on December 22, have not yet received docking permission from any European country. In Italy, the issue has divided the government. While the Italian premier says his country will receive 15 of the refugees, his interior minister has expressed opposition to arrival of any asylum seekers by sea.
