When Jamal Khashoggi disappeared after entering the Saudi Consulate in Istanbul it hardly surprised Saudi activists and dissidents living in exile voicing concern about the same scenario happening for them.
These cases seem to be just a tip of an iceberg when it comes the Saudi regime's tactics to control its own citizens beyond the Kingdom's borders.
Fear of being targeted by the regime among Saudi citizens living abroad even among those who are not exiled activists is a common experience. Khashoggi's case has once again renewed Saudi expatriates question of whether there is any distance sufficient to protect them from their government.
