What will it take to bring peace to Yemen?

Thousands of civilians have already died in a war that a Saudi-led alliance has declared on Yemen for four years now.

The war has been internationally blamed for creating what the United Nations says is the worst humanitarian crisis of modern time. It has put over 8 million people - including nearly 400,000 children under the age of 5 - at the risk of starvation. The involvement of external actors, such as Saudi Arabia and the UAE has proved deadly. Supported by Britain, France and the US, the Saudis have been trying to restore former president Abdrabbuh Mansour Hadi by attacking Houthi Ansarullah fighters. Now while the situation gets worse, there seems little sense of urgency from the major agencies, western countries and the Saudi alliance. Many are now wondering how and when the conflict in Yemen could be eventually brought to an end.
