2018 Asian games: Iran wins silver in basketball
In basketball, Iran had to be content with a silver medal, after losing against China in the final.
Iran started the game as the better side, and quickly opened and 8-point lead in the 1st quarter. They kept the momentum in the 2nd, and a slam dunk by Hamed Haddadi, sent Iran, 16 points ahead of their opponents.
However, China staged a fightback and cut Iran’s lead to 4 points at the interval. In the 2nd half, it was China that took control of the match, and took the lead midway through the 3rd quarter.
From then-on, the Chinese maintained their lead and finished the game with an 84-72 victory, to claim yet another gold medal.
