Afghan government forces have been defending the city of Ghazni against advancing Taliban militants.
The Taliban advanced in the city rapidly. After days of fighting, Afghan forces appeared to regain much of Ghazni.
But the attack left hundreds of people dead, destroyed much of Ghazni's infrastructure, and once again exposed the afghan governments security vulnerabilities.
This has now brought 17 years of the US-led war on Afghanistan under question.
A war that started under the pretext of ousting the Taliban but has now clearly proved to have been a failure. Our next report brings you more details on that.
