Iran’s Moghimi strikes gold in ITF Tennis Juniors President Cup

Young tennis player Sina Moghimi has stolen the show at the International Tennis Federation (ITF) Juniors President Cup in Armenia, winning the title for the Islamic Republic of Iran in the tennis tournament.

The Iranian teenage boy beat his Armenian opponent Artur Soghoyan 7-6 in the first individual match, before beating him 6-2 in the next individual meet on Sunday.

Earlier in the day, Russia’s Artur Kukasian and Swedish tennis player Robert Minasyan had won the third and fourth places.

The ITF Tennis Juniors President Cup opened at the Incourt Tennis Club in the Armenian capital city of Yerevan on 23 July, and concluded on July 29, 2018.

The sports event reportedly attracted some 32 tennis players from various world countries, namely Armenia, Austria, Belarus, England, France, Iran, Lebanon, the Netherlands, Norway, Russia, Sweden and Turkey.
